So I have heard a bunch of different things and my brain is racked, I heard you can only transmitt herpes while having an outbreak. Im guessing thats not true because well... I got it. I also heard that its active when the body sheds,so my question is,  when do you know ? Im just getting knowledge so I can understand more, I know everyone is different.

Im just very confused because in my case its on the inside of my right thigh NOT on any lady bits, which brings me to my next question. If I was to have another outbreak would it maybe appear in a different spot? The doc told me no but I thought I would ask  just in case. My understanding is that I can only pass it on if they rub up on that area.

Just looking for some answers, any information or expirences are muchly apprecated

to my understanding its skin to skin contact? I have never infected other places on my body. I tend to try as much as possible NOT to touch the blisters especially when they rupture and crust over. Mine are on my "lady bits" :-(. I havent had an outbreak in a very long time but then again I have had it a long time as well. I heard itching is a sign you are about to have an outbreak. some people have flu like symptoms as well upon having an outbreak but like you mentioned everyone is different. there are those who are asymptomatic meaning they dont have or show any symptoms when an outbreak is coming on. You can transmtt the virus at ANY time its just highly contagious when you are in an active outbreak. also depending on how long you have had the virus. those who have had it years are less likely to pass the virus or shed what I have heard it called as well. Those who are newly diagnosed in their first year are more contagious. depends on how well you take care of yourself healthwise and avoid things that cause flare ups food stress ect. Hope this helps?!
