I've been doing a lot of study and most double blind peer reviewed articles show olive leaf extract to cure almost every virus, bacteria and fungus including herpes. I'm going to start taking it soon and was wondering if anyone else has had success with this potential cure?

studies show olive leaf extract:

-Has the ability to contain viral infection and/or spread by inactivating viruses or by preventing virus shedding, budding, or assembly at the cell membrane.

-Has the Ability to directly penetrate infected cells and stop the symptoms of herpes by shutting down viral replication in male & female herpes and mild herpes simplex, zoster, type 1 and type 2. (Olivus)

This is the site of the extract I am going to try. http://www.hoffmancenter.com/page.cfm/333

Well How about the links to the studies you refer to?  How biased are they?  You only show the link to hoffmancenter.com to purchase the items.  But I did do some lookup and did a google search on this string: " Dr. Renis herpes "  It is suggested that his research in 1969 is what supports the idea of the use of Olive Leaf extract.  And there is a book by Dr. Morton Walker that discusses the benefits and references several studies on the extract as well as Dr. Renis' study.

So there may be legitimacy in your statement worth pursuing.  But the Hoffman center sells 120 pills for $44.00?  wow.  There are cheaper alternatives .  Vitacost.com has a comparable brand with 120 pills for around $12.  I may just have to try that out and see.

I have been taking Monolaurn for about 6 months now along with a zinc supplement.  And I still take Valtrex 500mg but I have been working to wean off of this med and only take it should I have a real outbreak.  I will continue to read up on this and decide if it is worth the attempt.  Please update us if you try it as well.

I am using a different product still pure olive leaf extract that my naturopath suggested. The reason I suggested that site is because it has a lot of good reviews. Olive leaf extract Is going to be the new cure in my opinion. I have many links to studies done I could share with you I just know people want to know what is the cure and how does it work. I just started taking the pills I am on day 4.I have had basically no irritation or redness even in almost a year and I don't take any 'man-made' pills as they have scary side-effects. A few helpful tips the doctor gave me included adding half a lemon to your water in morning as makes body alkaline and she said no virus, bacteria or fungus wants to live in alkaline environment. Also to apply and eat cold pressed coconut oil make sure it says cold-pressed so the active ingredient is still available. And to apply Aloe vera gel as close to 100% aloe vera as possible. These have helped me minimize the outbreaks and reduce the chance of re-occurrence. And who knows maybe the olive leaf extract is going to do the trick. I believe if there is a cure it is to be found in nature.
